New page!
(Magazine illustration with added magazine stars, a drawing of a number series I found stamped underneath my new thrifted table, and a painted pattern)
I finished! It started out as inspiration from this sketchbook page by Jon MacNair, and then deviated from that. The right side is oil pastels with red paint. I used some eyes painted on fabric that I made a while ago for creepy dude.
Page from a new sketchbook/art journal I started, one with lovely brown paper! I have yet to finish a book; I think I have six different books laying around, some with most of the pages blank.
Anyway, I thrifted the little white jug, it’s maybe one of those things to put oil in (I painted it without the stopper). On the left side I painted the design from a piece of fabric I had.
Art journal page. You can’t see most of it (especially on the right side), but the text says:
The conscious mind
often falls where there is no light
and has no reason to love
(Taken from this page of mine)
Here’s another page like this one, but I don’t like it as much. Nothing looked ideal for the right side of the page!
An art journal page (the first one in a while)! I started saving the tags from my family’s tea consumption, at first not knowing what I would do with them. I have a bit of a collecting compulsion. I see something I like or that sparks a hint of an idea, and before long I have a new collection. My friends can attest to it; my whole room is one big collection. Anyway, eventually the idea of a tea tag collage crept into my brain, and here is the result. Also used: a tea colored distress ink pad, a sticker from the Japanese tape packaging, pen, and a deer cut out of a sticky note (which is hot pink, but the scanner messed up the color).

Progress on my book for the Sketchbook Project isn’t going so well. I started a few pages but I don’t like them…so here’s a super awesome page from someone else!
(via theworkinghands)
how my sketchbook works: slather on excess paint from painting class on random pages, and dealwithit.gif later. the teal page was a fail because i had to close the sketchbook and leave (page rips) but i tried to take advantage of it?
and now idk what to do with the magenta page. i’m sure something will come up.
The accidental page rip looks amazing. Mistake that worked!

This is her art, not mine, but it’s lovely, and when you asked for pretty smiles, this piece popped into my head immediately.
I really like this. Oh man, I haven’t worked on my art journal in forever. I have a few pages I started, but then I hit a road block or two. Someday, someday. Hopefully soon.
