I traced some oldish cat sketches in pen and colored them in…they’re from an exercise in the book Drawing Lab by Carla Sonheim (draw cats from your imagination, keeping the lines simple and optionally switching to non-dominant hand).

I bought myself some markers (BIC Mark-It) and drew this birds of Brazil picture from Vintage Printable. Also sketched: Arnold (my Baby Jade Bonsai) and George the kitty!
Testing my new hand carved stamps from Green Garden Stamps. The blue ink pad wasn’t the best to use, I suppose.
An art journal page (the first one in a while)! I started saving the tags from my family’s tea consumption, at first not knowing what I would do with them. I have a bit of a collecting compulsion. I see something I like or that sparks a hint of an idea, and before long I have a new collection. My friends can attest to it; my whole room is one big collection. Anyway, eventually the idea of a tea tag collage crept into my brain, and here is the result. Also used: a tea colored distress ink pad, a sticker from the Japanese tape packaging, pen, and a deer cut out of a sticky note (which is hot pink, but the scanner messed up the color).
Supplies from my most recent trip to the craft store! I was using a Martha Stewart pen for all of my black outline drawings, but the ink is running low (it didn’t seem to last very long), so I picked up some micron pens. I always thought they were called micro pens for some reason…
I also wanted to try watercolors in a tube (seems so weird!), the turquoise ink pad caught my eye, and I thought the (oddly bent) detailing brush could come in handy.
….And, voilà! The faces of Modern Family! I think they’re all recognizable except for Claire (first one, second row), and Haley (third one, second row) doesn’t exactly look like herself. I somehow aged Alex quite a bit (last one, second row). Overall, I like it.
Time to crack my back and give my hands a break.
