New page!
(Magazine illustration with added magazine stars, a drawing of a number series I found stamped underneath my new thrifted table, and a painted pattern)
I finished! It started out as inspiration from this sketchbook page by Jon MacNair, and then deviated from that. The right side is oil pastels with red paint. I used some eyes painted on fabric that I made a while ago for creepy dude.
After seeing this confetti tablecloth on oh happy day, my sister-in-law asked me to make one in shades of yellow for my nephew’s second birthday.
Photos:
1. A naughty black cat giving my trouble. I was trying to tape the tablecloth down so I could paint it, and he kept sliding across it. I finally escorted him from the room, closed the door and continued taping, while he entertained himself by trying to open the door and running up and down the hallway meowing to himself.
2. Getting started.
3. Georgeypants calmly investigating. He’s very uncatlike in the scale of cat behavior, especially compared to black cats.
4. The tablecloth at the party.
My niece wearing my butterfly mask!

I tried out the inside bottle painting. (Poppytalk)
What it doesn’t mention is that you will have a massive amount of paint in the bottle after everything is covered, and that you should pour it back into the paint bottle!
Art journal page. You can’t see most of it (especially on the right side), but the text says:
The conscious mind
often falls where there is no light
and has no reason to love

The remaining six envelopes.
June is one of my favorites. It’s made with a distress ink pad and washi tape.
Last Saturday my sister-in-law threw a surprise birthday party for my brother. Beforehand, she asked me to decorate 11 envelopes that would hold a surprise event, one for each month besides January. Here are five of them.
I also got to stack an oreo tower while trying not to eat too many of them!
I’m not a jewelry person, but I couldn’t resist this leather necklace and deer pin from FlotsamArt. I bought them as a late birthday present to myself!
Digging through the bargain bin section at the craft store found me these butterfly masks (originally plain white). I painted a few, thinking they would be perfect for my niece Emerson! Not shown are the two others I painted that look like poo.
THE HORSES.
THEY’RE DONE.
It only took me over a month…almost a month and a half. I’m not sure if that’s mainly because they were labor-intensive or I’m a lazy butt, but it was certainly a combination. I’m sure they’ll look fabulous on my niece’s wall!
(Shown here is one of each kind of horse. There are 30 in all).
