I drew the teapots from this fabric!
I traced some oldish cat sketches in pen and colored them in…they’re from an exercise in the book Drawing Lab by Carla Sonheim (draw cats from your imagination, keeping the lines simple and optionally switching to non-dominant hand).
I bought myself some markers (BIC Mark-It) and drew this birds of Brazil picture from Vintage Printable. Also sketched: Arnold (my Baby Jade Bonsai) and George the kitty!
I haven’t drawn any faces in a while and randomly felt like drawing the main characters from the (excellent) show Misfits. While I do like to draw faces in a wonky fashion, I still had the hardest time with Simon and Curtis (top and bottom on the right), but I’m happy with them.

I started an art class in back in January. Yesterday’s class concluded the long section of charcoal sketching/shading etc. The second to last drawing I did (pictured) was of a clay figurine. The first was drawn by my teacher as a demonstration, and the second is mine. The head angles on mine are wrong, and I seemed to have made them plumper.
I finished it, finally!

….And, voilà! The faces of Modern Family! I think they’re all recognizable except for Claire (first one, second row), and Haley (third one, second row) doesn’t exactly look like herself. I somehow aged Alex quite a bit (last one, second row). Overall, I like it.
Time to crack my back and give my hands a break.

My lovely brown sketchbook came in the mail yesterday! I picked the ‘figuring you out’ theme, but I have a feeling I’m going to end up straying very far from that. Here’s to hoping I can fill it up and send it off before January 15th!
